Are you a tea drinker?

For thousands of years in the East tea has been regarded to promote good health, happiness, and wisdom. Recently, I have been been becoming fascinated by the different types of teas and what they do for you! I've always been an English breakfast kind of tea person but people have been opting me to try different types, and so I have! I've been reading up on it also and studies have found that some teas may help with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, encourage weight loss, lower cholesterol, and bring about mental alertness. Depending on the mood you are in, there is a certain tea for it all!

For a quick pick-me-up: Black Tea
Black tea is for those trying to be healthier and cut back on your caffeine intake (something I certainly need to do!) but still need that bit of caffeine fix, having the highest caffeine content of all teas. It can get you running for the rest of the day and studies show it may protect lungs from damage from cigarette smoke and help prevent strokes.

To feel refreshed: White Tea
It has the least amount of caffeine and the most antioxidants, and is uncured and unfermented. Some studies show that white tea is the most effective in preventing the properties of Cancer than other teas. It has a light flavour and can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Stress relief: Green Tea
It is all natural and probably the most talked about tea because of it's properties showing to speed up the metabolism and help with weight loss. Along with that, green tea is loaded with antioxidants that help prevent breast, lung, stomach, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers; prevent clogging of the arteries, counteract oxidative stress on the brain, reduce risk of neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, reduce risk of stroke, and improve cholesterol levels. One of my favourites!

For a creative flow: Indian Chai Tea
It is loaded with different spices and flavours and for those who are looking to try something a bit more interesting on the taste palette! It's popular to add with milk and honey, people say it helps with their creative thinking and brainstorming ideas!

Feel under the weather? Fruit-flavoured Teas
The options are endless with the types of flavours there are - raspberry, strawberry, rose, blueberry, orange, lemon.. so many delicious choices! They are great if you're feeling a bit sick, run down and are suffering some body aches. Drink up!

Always thirsty? Oolong Tea
Best served with ice as an ice tea, Oolong tea is best to satisfy your thirst on a hot day. Studies have also found that the antioxidants found in Oolong tea is said to lower bad cholesterol levels. A cold bottle can be found in most Asian supermarkets!

I'd rather be at Coachella

The only thing I love more than Summer, is Summer festivals. Coachella is a magical place, in every single aspect - the music, the clothes, the weather and of course, the people. Officially named Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, it is an annual three-day music and arts festival run in California. Whilst I admire from behind this computer screen, wrapped in jumpers sitting next to a heater, I envy every single person that has attended this years event. Besides the to-die-for lineup of music performers, I absolutely loved the hippie inspired style - flower crowns, crop tops, floral skirts and maxi dresses were everywhere. Needless to say, the festival would be like reliving Woodstock (except for the $7 entry fee, take a look at this photo-scanned ticket I found online! Insane, right?)

Shall we take a look at some of the fashion at Coachellafest 2013? Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler were my favourites! Boho chic was all over her outfits for the weekend.

Happily Ever After

So I haven't ever been one to stick to my resolutions. I always end up getting to the end of the year, trying to think back on all the things I never finished and all the goals I gave up on. That is why I've decided to compile a list of goals to achieve by the end of the year. Isn't it the best feeling when you actually achieve what you wanted? You finished what you started? I think it's safe to say 2012 was a year of procrastination and unfinished projects.

Think more positive
Can't say I do this enough. It's always hard to turn your thoughts to 'everything will be okay' and 'it will all work itself out' when you feel like you've had the worst day and just want to crawl under the blankets and never come out. Instead of locking yourself away in the darkness, how about (dare I say) go out and get some exercise? I mean we all know exercise gives us endorphins, right? So basically it's proven to make you happier already. I need to stop finding things wrong with every situation, because what I'm learning is no matter how bad a situation is - it always blows over, and things always find their way back.

Be more organised
As the naturally unorganised person I am, I'm constantly double booking, getting dates mixed up, unable to find any of my belongings and lose track of all he days. Days all seem to blur into one nowadays and this doesn't bode well with my messy organisational skills. I don't know about you, but I feel a lot more sorted and in control when I know exactly what is happening and when.
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, or worn. It is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace & gratitude.”
Choose the healthier option
Now I don't want to ban myself from ever eating a sweet again, because really that's just unrealistic, but I think choosing healthier choices definitely helps maintain a happy lifestyle. Sometimes the food we eat makes us feel lethargic and tired but we just don't know it! I've recently got onto the idea of clean eating and it's just amazing the foods you can make with vegan options. They all look so delicious and I feel I'm about to enter a cooking phase! These are some of my favourites for those who want to try a bit of experimenting! Oh She Glows, The Vegan Stoner and Lunch Box Bunch.

5 Greatest Escapes

Travelling is one of my all time favourite things to do! I absolutely love it. Being as passionate about travelling as I am, I recently caught one of those late night documentaries about amazing places on Earth. Of course I headed straight for Google after and looked them up. I don't consider myself to have lived until I go to these places myself, so beautiful! Here's my top 5.

The Verzasca River, Swiss Alps
The Verzasca is a Swiss 30-km long mountain river originating at Pizzo Barone and flowing into Lake Maggiore. This river is no normal river, it has some of the clearest turquoise waters of the world! I can only imagine what it's like to swim through this, I've heard it's like swimming through air it's so clear and light. What a feeling!

Japanese Maple Tree, Austin, TX
Isn't this just beautiful! Imagine sitting under that tree right there. There is not a lot of history about the Japanese Maple Tree in Texas, but it was just too pretty not to add into this list. Definitely wouldn't mind going there when I'm having a bad day. Looks like a Barbie's dream place.

Moraine Lake, Canada

How beautiful is this!! Tranquil and calm come to mind when I look at photos of this lake. And this isn't any ordinarily lake. The colour, being so unbelievably blue, is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour. Now I'm really not a Winter person, and become miserable in the cold, but I would bear the negative degree temperatures any day to hike this!

Ocean of Flowers, Luoping

Now this small county of Luoping lies in the relatively underdeveloped eastern part of the Yunnan Province. This could be any ordinary place except during every spring, the entire county transforms into an ocean of canola flowers, attracting what I would think to be thousands of travelers. An ocean of flowers, need I say more?

Tosua Ocean Trench, Samoa

Isn't this place just... perfect? This beauty is located in Lotofaga village and has been converted into a large swimming area. It looks like heaven! I can't wait to visit this place one day. It's also surrounded by rain forests, blowholes and other small beaches and waterfalls. The world is beautiful.
